A description written for Markus Lifenet (UK.) Ltd. - Date: 02-01-01

1.    The MS Markusnet is designed to catch and activate the mind of a MOB (man-overboard) in extream situations at sea and by that reduce the need for in-water rescuer.

2.    With the MS Markusnet comes valuable MOB know-how and instruction how to build up MOB safety and MOB rescue minded team on board the vessel, to prevent MOB insidents becoming a serious and expensive matter for all involved.

3.    The MS Markusnet is an ideal MOB safety and rescue teaching and training tool.

4.    The MS Markusnet is important near all gangways and boat stations as a backup tool in case of MOB insidents. It is also carried in water safety and rescue vehicles.

5.    The MS Markusnet is designed to be used by single MOB rescuer to activate a MOB upto 25 metre distance from the rescue platform and to secure the MOB at the side of a vessel, an offshore installation, a quay, a canal wall or a dam.

6.    The lifting lines "B", (see technical sheet on brochure,) are the only variable parts on the standard MS Markusnets packed in glassfibre container, and they are intended for manual lifting and to cover the height from water to a rescue platform, (vessel deck or alike).

7.    The Markusnets MS.1, MS.2, MS.3 and MS.4 are designed to enable two MOB rescuers to lift the MOB simultaniously from water, liferaft or small floating wreck upto 10, 20, 30 or 40 metre height onto the rescue platform, depending on length of lifting lines "B", in secure sitting or standing position, and in horizontal position manually upto 5 metre.

8.    All MS Markusnet versions are designed to be used with crane to hois the MOB in standing, sitting or horizontal position.

9.    The MS Markusnet is also designed to enable safe and effective in-water MOB rescue operation while the ship can be manauvered and the rescuer can stay on deck. Have at least two MS Markusnets on board, one to secure the in-water MOB rescuer and one to lift / hoist the MOB or to split MOB casualty group in the water or to make use of your crew in manual use of the Markusnet.

10.   The MS Markusnet comes packed ready for an instant use and is reusable without repacking it. Enclosed with it comes a CD instruction video, Man overboard safety and rescue training manual and Lloyd's register approval document.

11.   The MS Markusnet is easily repacked on board and needs very little service. It can last the lifetime of the vessel when it is properly looked after and maintained.

12.   The MS Markusnet is the missing link in MOB safety. In case of MOB situation it adds value to the use of the life-jacket, the life-buoy, the immersion suit, the liferaft, the lifeboat, the MOB rescue boat, the transport boat, the vessel and the crew.

Make sure you have the Markusnet type MS at the right places on board your vessel.

It provides you, your crew and their families a realistic peace of mind.
