| Markusnet (Markus Lifenet) Component | |
| Float-wire and net-bag. | |
The float-wire at outer edge and the net-bag construction in the net enables easy entering and lifting the casualty in A) standing position, B) sitting out and C) sitting in. |
|
| A) Standing. Grasp the ends of the float-wire and push the float-wire down in front of you and step on it. Then lock your arms around the net as you are pulled standing in the net. It is important that the deck rescue team holds strain on the lifting lines and pull the MOB towards the rescue platform, to avoide the MOB falling on his bag when entering the Markusnet by this method. This is most important when the MOB is dressed in drysuits (imersion suits). |

| B) Sitting with legs out. Grasp the ends of the float wire as you turn your back into the net, push the float-wire under your knees and hold it there until the nets is pulled towards the rescue platform by the deck rescuer. This method is recomended when the person is exhausted, handicap, very heavy and not experienced and always when hoisting by crane. If the MOB casualty is not able to help it self, but is floating at the side of a low freeboard deck boat, it can be pulled under the casualty by boat hook and hoisted up in this position. |

| C) Sitting with legs in. This entering method is recommended when the man has to be moved manually from a smaller boat, liferaft or boat wreck to higher vessel or similar vessel either straight up or through the water. |
